Perinatal Support provides emotional and psychological care during pregnancy, birth, fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, and the postpartum period. This work acknowledges the significant emotional, physical, and identity changes that can occur throughout the perinatal journey, offering a supportive space to process experiences such as anxiety, overwhelm, grief, trauma, or adjustment difficulties.
Particular areas of focus may include fertility-related distress, traumatic birth experiences, medical trauma, pregnancy loss and the emotional impact of complicated or highly stressful perinatal experiences. Therapy is tailored to each individual’s unique circumstances and paced according to their emotional needs and capacity.
With specialist training and Medicare eligibility to provide Pregnancy Support Counselling, you may be eligible to access to up to three Medicare-rebated Pregnancy Support Counselling sessions per pregnancy with a GP referral.
