DBR Therapy

Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) is a body-based psychotherapy approach designed to support the processing of shock-based and attachment-related trauma. It focuses on the earliest neurophysiological sequence of a traumatic response, beginning with subtle orienting and shock responses in the brainstem and subcortical regions before emotional or cognitive processing occurs.

DBR works by tracking and gently processing these early somatic and neurobiological markers of shock, allowing traumatic activation to resolve at a deeper level of the nervous system. This can support the gradual integration of overwhelming or fragmented experiences, particularly in individuals with complex trauma, developmental trauma, or dissociative responses.

If you experience states of emotional flooding, shutdown, numbness, or reactivity that feel difficult to access through traditional talk-based approaches, DBR may offer a structured and titrated pathway toward greater regulation and integration.
